Driving Directions
Big Anchor
From Port Lavaca:
- Hwy 87 turn to the right at the first street after crossing over Hwy 35 (Alcoa St.)
- Follow that street to Austin St./Hwy 238 and go right
- Following Hwy 238, which will also become Hwy 316, until Hwy 238 goes off to the right at a flashing caution light
- Keep coming on Hwy 316 to FM 2717 and go left
- Go a couple of miles to Fannin St. and go right
- Go a couple of blocks to Sandcastle Dr. and turn left
- We are the second house on the right--73 Sandcastle Dr
- There is a small concrete lighthouse out in front and usually a lighthouse banner on the house
If coming from Houston:
- Hwy. 59 to Ganado, Exit Hwy 172
- Turn right on Hwy. 35
- Go through Point Comfort, cross causeway into Port Lavaca
- Turn left on Hwy. 238 at first stoplight off causeway at Lighthouse Beach State Park
- Follow Hwy. 238 through town of Port Lavaca
- Follow directions for Port Lavaca from then on after flashing caution light
If coming from Corpus Christi:
- Come on Hwy. 35 to FM 2433
- Go right to Hwy 238/316 and go right
- Then keep coming on Hwy 316 after Hwy 238 goes off to the right
- Turn left on FM 2717 to Fannin St. and go right on Fannin St
- Take a Left onto Sandcastle Dr. in 2 blocks
From Austin:
- Come to Cuero via Hwy. 283
- Turn left at McDonald's restaurant onto Hwy. 87 to Victoria
- Follow driving directions from Victoria
